Why i want to go SEP...

1) Clear my core modules without affecting my CAP.

waterboi:"Very simple. I am weak in my Reinforced Concrete related modules. So these are the modules i wann to S/U."

keung:" U cant S/U it in NUS so where else?"

waterboi:"SEP lo."

keung:" But now i study like shit leh, how to pass?"

waterboi:"Who ask u to choose TUD?"

keung:" How i know? Thomas was from TUD and he says is a damn good uni for engineering students like mi. so I took it loh."

waterboi:"see la, never do enuff research on which one the slackest SEP uni. Now aso cannot regret wat. Told u to go sweden la, the sep students there always fly-ard-europe-conquering-30-cities-in-20-days mission one. so fun n u here suffering."

keung:" Got la, i research and ask ard seniors who went to Germany. They all say good good good. any questions i pose to them they all say 'good experience, good experience' and just nodded their head."

waterboi:"Who u ask?"

keung:" Vimal"

waterboi:"but u said seniorssssssssssssssssss."

keung:" oh, ermmmm.... only Vimal *opps*"

waterboi:"keung ar, keung ar. Not say i wann to say u. Firstly, din research enuff. Secondly, din ask ard enuff. den just fly to Germany assuming alot of things. Den now i see how u die."

keung:" but... but..."

waterboi:"but wadddd, no point le, now just go for Plan B."

keung:" wad about plan B?"

waterboi:"How i KNOW!?!?!?!?!?! u r suppose to have back up plan, hello!! can u wake up??!!??"


2) SEP is a preview of furthering my Masters after graduation.

keung:" u think i go SEP for fun meh, got plan ahead one. dun play play."

waterboi:"so how Masters in germany? No tuition fees, high living costs, far away from ya frens n family and many more."

keung:"a possible option for mi, may wann to futher studies here."

waterboi:"u sure? ya german is not say damn zai lo."

keung:"ya lo, very weird u know, i speak english n chinese n german all at the same time here. coz i made frens with Chinese students, i speak to Rolf in german, learning techinical terms in german. So all these verbal structures have to go tru my head and process into English den translate it back to chi or german when i speak. it is damn tiring for mi sometimes."

waterboi:"u din get my point. i meant wad u gg to do abt ya german now?"

keung:"oh, hmmm..."

waterboi:"always out of point."


3) To network myself with potential working partners in engineering firms.

keung:"i want to widen my social circle. i wann to know more frens and establish strong ties with them. Primarily, Chinese frens are good. They are gg to rule the economy. so is good to know more of them! hur hur."

waterboi:"so how is ya social circle now?"

keung:"eh, 2 chi, 1 jap, 2 korean, 1 cheng ho."

waterboi:"hmmmm, wad a big social circle."

keung:"wait la, i targeting a thai guy, french guy and maybe at least one german. coz german students tend to cluster with themselves so abit harder to socialise with them."

waterboi:"ok, we'll see den."


4) Since i'm in SEP, might as well go for OIA in germany, get a good experience working here.

keung:"But i realise the trouble of working in a foreign firm where broken English is the most widely spoken internationally. so English communicated is ineffective coz there are countless of ways to express yaself in different cultural context. so for my local cultural context of saying certain things do not coincide with other cultural context. So, it is best to communicate in German. rite now i wonder if waking up 7am and knocking off at 6 or 7 pm over 6 months is gg to kill me. I have trouble waking up at 7am for 2 consecutive days. So i'm still wondering. "

waterboi:"oh, ermmm ok, i'm quite lost now. Don't u agree Jieling?"

So these are the reasons running tru my mind before i came here. On hindsight, i realise wad i planned do not always go accordingly. There must always a back up to cushion any unforseen situations.

Well, all that said and thought, i guess now i have to worry how to pass the modules. Boo!
