First things first, imagine u r now a NUS sutdent. COngrats!! u r enrolled into NUS. Now u will need to find a hostel/hall to stay. So u go about looking hall/hotels websites to check it out. U realise PGP and other campus residences are quite boring. U noe u r fun-fun-play-play person. So are your frens. So halls are the rite thing for u guys.

U and ya frens search NUS website for the 6 halls. Hey presto!"!!!!
First impressions are made tru the websites.
Hearsay aso account for the choice of halls to be made.
Most hearsys are normally revovled ard TH and EH, being the esteemed sprts halls they are. So generally freshies will base on their choice of halls tru first impressions and hearsays. Unless you have older siblings staying in other halls, the manner of choosing ya halls will be most probably be based on the 2 factors mentioned above.

Hearsays
No need to dwell on tt coz it is hard to change a public perception on sprts halls. They are popular in the publics' eye.

First impressions
This is something that we REALLY need to improve on. Pardon for my crudeness in the next few paragraphs. But i need to get this out of my system.

For a freshie, i wud continue to navigate the latter. WHY???

2. Topics related to what i want at this point of time
3. Fresh-looking and exciting


To be fair, i have been navigating these sites for a few weeks. Nope nth is updated for the former
since last year except for this.

A few pointers:

1. How do one expect freshies to join ARG when the object itself is non-existent on the main website? Given the significant absence from the main website, would freshie even bother to take note (mentally) abt ARG? Let alone the other main events. Yes we seniors can
psycho all we want abt the importance of ARG but at the end when importance is not distributed equally on the same platform, how to justfiy tt? Freshies will have tt mindset of wat the website projects.

2. A smart move was made to create 8th and 12th Aug important dates. Credit to the comm to think of tt ahead. But seniors are very talkative. This move may backfire and freshies may deem it as a blackmail. come on, freshies are no longer tt silly. They are enrolled in hall liao. Howis it gg to affect their accpetane into hall? How is tt possible. To instill insecurity may work on odler batches but not future batches. A risky move i wud say.

3. All in all, equal importance ought to be placed among the 4 major comm this coming orientaiton. They are all important aspects to usher our freshies in. But is it still early? Am i just paranoid and plain bitchy? To have a good first impression, wadever comm (infoTech comm?) that does the website would have to start now. Redo the outlook of the website. make it simple. make it pleasing. Infotech comm have very talented ppl. Please work the bonus points you guys were credited for the work done last year.


True, we will have a blast during tt 2 weeks.

Wouldn't it be superb to have good first impressions and live up to our expectations?
